Notable Townspeople:
Below is a list of all the notable townspeople on the island, as well as their responsibilities. Also notes if positions are filled by players. (Ideally, we’d like each of these to be filled by a player at some point.) Note that this isn’t every job on the island, just the ones that merit special attention. If you’d like to manage one of these positions, please note so in your profile. This will be done on a first-come first-serve basis. If the position is associated with a forum (such as the bookstore or general store), feel free to also note the desired name and description of that forum in your profile. If your profile is accepted, the forum will be changed per your specifications.
Mayor (Open)
Every town needs a mayor. Responsibilities would include overseeing land maintenance and public systems (running water, electricity, waste disposal, etc.). These tasks are typically contracted to mainland services, but it’d be the Mayor’s job to report on them. The mayor would also be responsible for selling land both for housing and businesses, and making sure all the businesses have their paperwork filed. The Sheriff and the Sanctuary ranger(s) also report to the Mayor. The Mayor shares a building with the sheriff’s office and jail.
Sanctuary Ranger(s) (Open)
The Sanctuary is a wildlife and nature preserve. Hunting is only allowed in very short seasons. Logging is never allowed. Campfires only allowed if a campfire pit is built. Only tents and open camping allowed; no RVs or campers. No vehicles (including bicycles) except on designated trails. It is the Ranger’s job to patrol and enforce these rules. The ranger is provided with a jeep and mountain bike to facilitate travel, as well as a fire tower on top of the hill at the Sanctuary)
Sheriff (Filled - )
Typical lawman, his job includes patrolling the island to keep things legal. Reports to the mayor. He is provided a special 4x4 van that acts as a paddy wagon, as well as an offroad/onroad motorcycle.
Deputy (Open)

Currently, we have room for one big fancy mansion owner. If you’d like to fill this position, please also note where you’d like to manor to be built (Anywhere except the Sanctuary. You can use a picture of the map with an X or just give us a general idea), and include either a detailed description, or a short description and a picture. Please include all of this info on your profile. We ask that you make this manor in a classical style, though; nothing post-modern, please.
